Pattern Details
This Sleeve Expansion provides an easy yet transformative way to refresh your Bluebell garments, adding a fresh and playful aesthetic. It serves as an extension to your existing pattern, offering additional pieces and guidance on incorporating these beautiful balloon sleeves. Picture how they gently billow as your child runs through fields or spins under the warm autumn sun, turning ordinary moments into something extraordinary.
The expansion features voluminous, gathered long sleeves that taper into a subtle elastic cuff at the wrist or above the elbow, creating a soft, balloon-like shape. This elegant design adds a sense of whimsy and movement, bringing an extra layer of charm to your Bluebell Dress or Blouse.
The package includes a comprehensive, illustrated guide, ensuring the sewing process is as enjoyable and rewarding as the final result. From the first cut to the last stitch, you’ll find delight in creating a piece that feels both unique and timeless.
The sleeves are designed with generous volume and subtle elastic cuffs forming a soft, balloon-like shape. Those two length options allow for versatility in style, making the expansion suitable for different occasions and seasons.
Long Sleeves: Offering full-length, voluminous sleeves that taper into an elastic cuff at the wrist, perfect for cooler days or a more elegant look.
Above-the-Elbow Sleeves: A playful, shorter option that still captures the balloon-like shape, ideal for warmer weather or a casual, breezy aesthetic.
This pattern is perfect for Advanced Beginners to Intermediate sewists, providing a range of options to match your developing skills. It's suited for those familiar with basic sewing techniques and terminology.

The Bluebell Pattern is best suited for woven fabrics, designed to create elegant, flowing garments. Recommended materials include:
- Lightweight cotton lawn
- Light twill
- Batiste
- Breathable linen
- Double gauze
The amount of fabric shown is for the sleeves only and must be calculated in addition to the chosen Bluebell view from the original pattern.
For the calculations provided in the fabric requirement table, we have used the standard European fabric width, which is typically 140 cm (55 inches). The measurements are presented in centimeters, with the equivalent in yards provided in parentheses below each figure.
Please note that different fabrics can shrink differently after washing, so we recommend adding extra fabric to account for this shrinkage. It's advisable to purchase additional fabric to ensure you have enough for your project.
