For best results, choose lightweight woven fabrics with a soft drape — ideally between 135–150 g/m². Fabrics that are too heavy can make certain construction steps bulky and hard to manage.

Recommended fabrics include:

• Rayon challis, Tencel, or viscose-linen blends for a breezy, elegant look
• Cotton lawn or soft poplin for a more structured silhouette
• Small-scale prints or solids to let the clean lines shine
• Avoid heavy textures, large prints, or embellished fabrics
  

If you choose a semi-sheer fabric, consider adding a full lining. Make sure your lining fabric is breathable and has a similar or lighter drape than the main fabric.

You’ll need matching thread, a small button (approx. 1.5 cm / ⅝”) for the back slit option, and light fusible interfacing.
