Getting Started
A digital sewing pattern is a PDF file that includes all the pieces and instructions needed to create a garment. The advantages of PDF patterns are immediate access after purchase, no shipping costs, and the convenience of printing only the sizes you need.
Upon purchase, you'll receive the following:
- An A4/Letter file for home printing
- An A0 file for large-scale printing at a copy shop
- Projector-compatible files for paperless cutting (not available for kids' patterns 1-7 years)
- A beautifully illustrated interactive PDF instructions booklet, offering clear guidance throughout the sewing process
After your purchase, you will receive an email containing a link to download your files. This link is sent immediately after successful payment, so your patterns are ready for you to download right away.
Please ensure you download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat for the best compatibility with our files. Adobe Acrobat is available for free, and you can download it from their official website. This will help ensure a smooth experience when accessing your patterns.
The instructions include a detailed guide on how to print the PDF pattern at home,
but here’s a quick guide to help you get started:
- Open the downloaded pattern file using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Select "Actual Size" or "100%" in the print dialog box to avoid any scaling issues.
Do NOT select "Fit to Page", as this will alter the pattern size. - Print the first page only to ensure the pattern is printed to the correct scale.
Measure the test square with a ruler to make sure it matches the given dimensions. - Once you’ve confirmed the correct scale, print the remaining pages of your pattern.
- Cut out the pages and tape them together according to the instructions provided on each page to complete your pattern.
All of our PDF patterns are password protected for copyright reasons. As a result, you won’t be able to open our files with editing software like Photoshop or Illustrator. To print your pattern, please use a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
If your copy shop offers an online upload service, it’s possible that our files may not be compatible. In this case, we recommend asking if you can send the file directly via a cloud service like Dropbox or WeTransfer. You don’t need an account to use these services, and both are free to use.
Policies & Support
We understand that selecting the perfect pattern is important to you, and we want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. However, due to the nature of digital products, all sales are final once the PDF pattern has been downloaded. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges.
However, if you’ve purchased a PDF pattern and haven’t downloaded it yet, we’d be happy to offer an exchange for another PDF pattern.
If you have any questions or need help with your pattern, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!
Our patterns are licensed for individual use only and cannot be shared, distributed, or redistributed in any form. We encourage you to direct friends and family to our website to make their own purchases. This ensures continued support for our small business and allows us to keep creating unique and high-quality designs.
Our patterns are licensed for personal use only and may not be used for commercial production, resale, or any other commercial purposes.
As a German company, we are governed by German copyright law, and these terms apply regardless of your country of residence. We request that you comply with these terms to support the continued creation of original and high-quality designs.
However, some of our earliest patterns include a provision allowing the production of a limited number of handmade items for sale. If you have purchased one of these patterns, you may continue to sell handmade clothing within the scope outlined in the pattern's guidelines. Please be advised that this policy may be subject to change in the future. To stay informed of any updates, we recommend subscribing to our newsletter.

Important: Our PDF patterns are for personal use only, and the download links should not be shared. For security reasons, each link can only be downloaded from a limited number of IP addresses. If this limit is exceeded, access will be revoked.
Pattern Updates:
As we continue to grow and improve, our patterns may evolve to offer you even better designs and functionality.
If you’ve already purchased a pattern that has been updated (due to design improvements, not errors), we generally don’t offer free replacements. It’s similar to when a brand changes its product packaging—you can still enjoy the original, but updates aren’t provided automatically.
Updates may include new sizes, improved instructions, or design tweaks to make the pattern even better.
Pattern Corrections:
We strive for accuracy in all of our patterns, but occasionally, small errors may slip through. If you find one, please check for updates here to see if a correction has been made. If the issue isn’t listed, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at hello@florachild.com—we’re happy to help!
Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our work!
